About Carla

As a conference speaker for over two decades and an accomplished writer, Carla offers many areas of expertise. She speaks on marriage, family issues, teaching children spiritual disciplines, and leading a sanctified life in Christ. She presents inspirational and practical message to women's groups, parent's groups, public and private classrooms, homeschool groups, Christian Education and writers conferences and women's and teens' retreats.

A stay-at-home mom and pastor's wife, Carla has a wealth of ideas to share with her audience. She and her husband, Tim, maintain an open-door policy and have taken more than forty adults and twenty-seven children into their home, including families, troubled teens, battered wives, and college students. Tim and Carlalive in Enumclaw, WA at the foot of lovely Mt. Rainier.

  • Previously assistant director of The Write-to-Publish Conference,Wheaton, IL for 6 years; writing consultant and instructor for Cherry Creek Schools, Aurora, Colorado for 5 years; public speaker for over 15 years forwomen's groups and retreats, parenting workshops, writing conferences, education in-services, Christian and public schools, homeschoolers and Christian Education conferences.

 

Life Experiences

 

  • Marriage of 32 years, raising three sons and nearly 30 temporary custody children.
  • Assists her husband Tim, in pastoring a non-denominational church. Maintains an "open home" policy by taking in single adults, displaced families and at-risk children as the Lord leads.
  • Volunteered for 20 years at her children's schools and organizations, such as Parent Teacher Association and Marching Band.
  • Home schooled  her last two high school children and teaches writing for other home schoolers in her community.
  • Certified Activity Aide, providing therapy and developmental testing for disabled children and adults. Carla and her husband, Tim, were houseparents for mentally disabled adults before going into the ministry.
