Mission Statement
As a writer, it is very important to keep myself accountable to other writers, editors, friends, and family. This
helps me to keep on task and selfish ambition at bay. Belonging to such groups as Northwest Christian Writers Association and
networking with other writers helps me to stay motivated and excited about writing.
Mission Statement for Writing & Speaking Ministry
When I write and speak, I do not
want to do so with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaim to my audience the
testimony about God. For I resolve to know nothing except Jesus Christ and
him crucified. I will write and speak in weakness and fear, and with much
trembling. My message and my writing will not be with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the
Spirit's power, so that my readers and listeners' faith might not rest on my wisdom, but on God's power. (Paraphrased from 1 Cor. 2:1-5)
Specific Points
- To provide parents and children
tools that will help them to fulfill the following:
Love the LORD your God with all
your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments
that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your
children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and
bind them on your foreheads. (Deuteronomy 6:5-8)
- To help women find contentment and fulfillment in their roles and
purpose.
For I know the plans I have
for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to
give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
- To use my skills and experience
to assist my husband proclaim the message of the cross through his writing and
speaking.
For Christ did not send me to
baptize, but to preach the gospel‑‑not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross
of Christ be emptied of its power. For
the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us
who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:17-18)
